Out of Ordi, a viral Korean salt bread pop-up, has announced that it is ready to open its first brick-and-mortar in Koreatown Los Angeles at the corner of 8th and Oxford.
The company’s first storefront is set to move into the Oxford Center Plaza shopping center next month, according to a recent announcement made on social media. Co-owners and husband-and-wife team Gemma Lee and Luis Kim started Out of Ordi as a pop-up from their home last summer as a way to provide the community with savory, buttery rolls often topped with corn, cream, black sesame, and more. Eventually, the couple outgrew operating out of their home, resulting in them looking into moving into a brick-and-mortar.
“We’re opening our very own brick-and-mortar store,” according to the announcement from Out of Ordi. “What started as a small dream is now becoming a reality, and we couldn’t have done it without you. It’s still a work in progress, so it’ll take a little time to get everything set up, but we’re beyond excited to bring you along for the ride! Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates as we make this space come to life. We can’t wait to welcome you all soon! We’re currently not accepting any more orders as we prepare for our brick-and-mortar store.”
Although the exact opening date is not yet confirmed, the new Out of Ordi storefront is anticipated to open in April 2025. When it does, customers can look forward to trying the couple’s viral salt bread, which originated in Korea. These delicious buttery breads will be available individually or as a box combo. Some popular flavors include the Corn Crème Salt Bread, an airy bread filled with rich corn cream, offering a perfect blend of sweet and savory with a satisfyingly crusty bottom. Another favorite is the Pistachio Bomb, made with smooth pistachio cream filling and topped with crunchy pistachios, all encased in spicy salt bread.
