A beloved Chicago-style hot dog spot that shut down on the North Shore in February is set to be revitalized.

Stephen Scott, founder of The Scotty Dog in Beverly, recently announced that business partners Eric Stone and Joseph Mastrorio have acquired the restaurant and will launch The Salty Seagull in its place.

“Well there’s been a lot of rumors going around so here’s the fact,” reads the Facebook post.” Joseph and Eric business partners in a few different small businesses including a restaurant in Hampton Beach are taking over the old Scotty dog which will now turn into The Salty Seagull.”

The Salty Seagull’s menu will include some Scotty Dog favorites, such as Vienna beef Chicago dogs, garlic burgers, and Maxwell Street Polishes. The restaurant will also offer Italian beef and lobster rolls made with lobster meat from Ipswich Shellfish, a supplier Scott relied on during his time as an executive chef.

While Stone briefly confirmed this news with What Now Boston, he did not provide an opening date for the 437 Rantoul St eatery.

“Dedicated team ready to continue great food and great service just like The Scotty Dog!!” wrote Scott.
