A Colorado Springs author will soon open a brick-and-mortar bookstore for self-published children’s authors. Joni McCoy, author of Toots The Fire Farting Dragon series, has been selling books online and from underneath a tent at various pop-up events, but now her work and other authors’ creations will find a home at Young Bookworms in Colorado Springs.
The bookstore could open in April and will feature a variety of children’s books for ages infants through middle school. Items will include picture books, chapter books, activity and coloring books, and more. Other book-related items and stuffed animals will also line the shelves.
McCoy began writing her books in 2020, and the business continued to grow with the addition of other self-published authors’ books.
The books sold at the brick-and-mortar location will also be available on the Young Bookworms website. According to the Colorado Secretary of State, the new bookstore will be located at 3406 Hartsel Drive, Unit B, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
