According to recent reporting, Old Coast Ales will soon set up shop in a new spot alongside a local coffee brand.
Citing plans under review in St. Johns County, JDR reports that Kookaburra Coffee will be adding the brewery to its Kookaburra Compound at 470 Florida 207 in St. Augustine.
Site plans delineate the addition of 5,554 square feet, which will include its retail shop and coffee production plant, and the addition of 8,911 square feet of improvements focused on the proposed brewery and a warehouse.
Matt Hooker, co-owner and founder of Old Coast Ales, told the publication he will be working with Kookaburra ownership to “fill a void in the 207 corridor for a local brewery.”
“The selection primarily, but not exclusively, will be to produce lower to mid alcohol British style ales. We have also added a kitchen in the plans, and will feature a pizza oven,” he said in an email to the JDR.
As the project is in very early stages, an opening date won’t come for a while; Hooker said he hopes to begin building up this summer and hopes to open by spring 2026.
