Burger Boys was started in 2017 at 2400 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, by Jeffery Andre Bryant. There are many other Burger Boys outlets in other states. In the last 8 years, it has become a fan-favorite, go-to spot for many people. However, yesterday, the owner took to his social media to announce the permanent closure of the outlet on May 7, 2025.

In the post, Bryant expressed his pleasure in serving people with the best and his sadness at bidding farewell. He started the business with his back up against the wall, and has now taken a conscious decision to shut down. Burger Boys was expected to close in 2023 to make it easy for Kern’s Food Hall to receive accessibility to customers.

Journey of Burger Boys and Why is it Closing

Bryant started the business with a mission to serve the best burgers. Burger Boys became popular quickly for its burgers, fries, collard greens, and fried chicken gizzards. Bryant has been in the culinary industry for 40 years. Before opening Burger Boys, he used to take orders for fried turkeys during the Thanksgiving holidays.

In the social media post, Bryant mentioned the names of two friends, Cathay Moore and Bobby Dalton, who helped shape the success of Burger Boys. Customers contribute as much as the staff does to the success of a business, for which the owner expressed his gratitude.

It is an emotional decision for the owner as well as the customers because the order window was also a place to talk, connect, and make friends. Earlier, Burger Boys was expected to close in 2023 to make space for Kern’s Food Hall. Bryant noticed that there is not enough space on the road for both outlets, and after meeting the development team and Alex Dominguez, he decided to give up the outlet to offer a safe entry to the food hall.

Bryant also clarified in the post that he has not taken this decision under any sort of pressure. It is his conscious decision to donate the building and equipment and move on in life. He also mentioned that he will keep the Facebook page active to keep the customers informed, as he might reopen the outlet at a different location in the future.
