According to recent reporting in Orlando Weekly, Hinckley’s Fancy Meats, a popular local eatery has earned a spot at the upcoming additions to Orlando International Aiport, representing bright stars in the city’s local culinary landscape.
Described by the New York Times as ‘amazingly flavorful, deeply smoky, with tastes from the American south and from France” Hinckley’s Fancy has become an Orlando standout having “grown organically since it first started as a small deli case in the Local Roots shop at East End Market,” per the website.
“Our initial focus shifted from that little deli case to an online shipping service after about a year of test marketing and product development.
Shortly after launching our online store, our first order came through: Sam Sifton, the food editor of The New York Times, the founding editor of NYT Cooking and a columnist for The New York Times Magazine.
Sam was gracious enough to sign our first dollar and then asked us to send another box to be featured in the New York Times 2017 Holiday Gift Buying Guide.
Overnight we went from trying to figure out how to make the phone ring to figuring out what to do when it doesn’t stop ringing. Within a few weeks we were sending The Charcuterie Box to every state in the country.
Once the dust settled, we returned our focus to serving the Orlando, FL area. We jumped on an opportunity to move permanently into the East End Market and offer up some sandwiches and charcuterie. We opened our doors in February 2019 with the goal of using honest ingredients to make some of the city’s best sandwiches and charcuterie.
Catch us on Season 7 of the Netflix series Somebody Feed Phil in “The Real Orlando” episode,” the brand’s bio concludes.
No timeline has been announced for the airport location’s opening.
