A new Lao restaurant and sushi bar is preparing to start serving the community in Largo: plan review paperwork submitted by The Million Elephants Inc shows a restaurant called Crying Tiger opening at 8256 Ulmerton Road.

After finding the paperwork, What Now reached out to owner Pam Vilaihong to ask about plans for the new restaurant.

“We’re a Lao Asian fusion and sushi bar,” Vilaihong told What Now. “We want to do authentic Lao cuisine, and we want to share more of our culture with people. We hope to have music and traditional dance on weekends.”

Details on the menu, which will include favorites like red curry, curry noodles, and papaya salad (to name just a few examples) are largely under wraps for now.

Opening in the Ulmerton Road location, Crying Tiger joins local businesses like Ace Cigars and Puppies St. Pete, plus Brazilian restaurant One Stop Brazil.
