A pan pizza joint is swooping in on a prime Mission location. Itria, the brainchild of Chef Daniel Evers, formerly of AL’s Place and Cotogna, and Min Park, the marketing guru behind Rooster and Rice, will open this spring in the space that was briefly Obispo, at 3266 24th Street.
Evers told What Now San Francisco in a telephone conversation Friday that equipment for Itria would arrive at the restaurant Monday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Itria will first open for take-out and delivery only, offering five rectangular pan pizzas — one a contemporary, grown-up take on the Domino’s pineapple pizza of Evers’s childhood — while revamping the space for indoor dining.
“I love authentic Italian pizza,” Evers said, “But I’m a California boy at heart. Our pies are a combination of both cultures.”
This summer, Itria plans to open for indoor dining, and will offer a wider menu, adding wine, homemade pastas, and crudo to the mix. Head to their Instagram for updates.
