Hilda and Jesse, under the helm of San Francisco fine-dining duo Kristina Compton and Rachel Sillcocks, has been popping up in kitchens throughout the city and serving up Latvian-inspired breakfast foods at all hours of the day. Now, they’ve finally secured their own home, in the space that was once North Beach Gyros, at 701 Union Street on the southwest corner of Washington Square.

Sillcocks, who’s worked in San Francisco restaurants for seventeen years, including Cyrus, Nopa, and Range, will be Director of Operations, while Compton, who was formerly Chef de Cuisine at Avery and has fifteen years of experience in kitchens, will take creative control over the menu, inspired by her Latvian heritage.

“Working in fine dining, I’ve always felt kind of stunted with what we can do,” Compton said in an interview with Eater. In its new home, Hilda and Jesse will continue to break the fine dining mold, and offer hearty, unique breakfast food, no matter what time of day you show up.

There’s been no word yet as to when they plan to open their new spot, but rumor has it an announcement should be coming soon on their website and Instagram page.
