The Back to Black Band — a Bay Area Amy Winehouse tribute band spearheaded by Victoria Wasserman — has been performing tribute shows throughout the San Francisco bar scene for over two years.

Now, Wasserman, who impersonates Winehouse during performances in a costume complete with a black beehive wig, is opening her own place. The jazz singer has filed for permits to open Vic’s Winehouse (in honor of Amy, no doubt) at 1870 Fillmore Street — the former home of Wine Jar.

Wasserman did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and no opening date has been announced, but Wasserman has confirmed the news on Facebook, so we’ll go ahead and guess that the new space will feature something along the lines of regular tribute performances in a cozy, jazzy setting, complete with a nice, long wine list.

In truth, we don’t have any details yet, but an homage to Amy Winehouse in the form of a boozy jazz bar sounds pretty on point.
