Granny’s Kitchen Owner Bob Souza confirmed to What Now Orlando on Wednesday that the restaurant is moving from its previous location on Stuart Avenue in downtown Lake Wales to a new address at 1372 Highway 60.
“When we were downtown, only 10 percent of the people in Lake Wales knew we were here,” said Souza. “Everybody travels [Highway] 60 at least once a day, so everybody will know we’re here now.”
At 4,925 square feet of space, Granny’s Kitchen will occupy real estate at the Orange Grove Shopping Center, near Tractor Supply Co.
The China Pearl Buffet, which closed amid the pandemic, previously occupied the space.
Souza, who owns Granny’s Kitchen along with his wife Stephanie Davidson, is originally from the New England area and has worked in the restaurant business for more than 30 years.
While the menu is currently being reworked, he says the Granny’s Kitchen concept will continue to center around New England seafood, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wine and beer options will also be available.
Souza said he hopes to open sometime in the next 2 to 3 weeks.
