Bevmo!, the specialty beverage retailer founded in 1994 by Steve Boone, will be adding yet another location to its already impressive array of Bay Area stores.

According to a license filing with the state of California, Bevmo is preparing to expand to a new Los Gatos location at 636 Blossom Hill Road. Currently the home of a permanently closed Pier One Imports, the new location will occupy a large space on the corner of Blossom Hill Road and Los Gatos Boulevard, right across the street from Oak Meadow Park.

Bevmo! began back in 1994, back when it was known as Beverages and More! It started out from a humble store in Concord, California and started growing right away, adding six new stores in its very first year of operation. Now, after over 25 years of successful operation, Bevmo has opened over 166 stores across California, Arizona, and Washington, with 20 locations in the Bay Area alone.

About a year ago, Bevmo was acquired by the Philadelphia-based food and convenience store delivery company goPuff in a $350 million deal. This was great news for Bevmo CEO Josiah Knutsen who recently rose to the position in 2019. With the goPuff deal secure, Bevmo got the greenlight to continue their ambitious expansion.

No word has been given yet on when the retailer is expected to open, but it will be a long process to finalize everything that needs to get done. In the meantime, consider checking out one of their other Bay Area stores. Or not! Stay in and have Bevmo deliver whatever you want right to your house. Regardless, whether you want to stay in or go out, interested customers should join ClubBev! to stay updated on all of Bevmo’s latest offerings.
