Not to be confused with a pair of popular Disney movies, Encanto is a new restaurant at 2635 Country Club Rd. in Lake Charles set to combine Latin and Cajun influences. According to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, Encato opened as a drive-thru-only preview on June 3 and a report in The Advocate said full service at the restaurant will start in July.

Other posts to Facebook revealed some of the savory dishes that will be available, including shrimp quesadilla, a salad with fried chicken, carnitas salad bowl, fried fish, pressed sandwiches, and empanadas stuffed with fish, chicken or beef. Desserts posted to Facebook include a molten lava cake, rum cake, and banana pound cake with Amaretto whipped cream. Frozen daiquiris will also be available and can be picked up at the drive-thru.
