UmeTea is taking over i-Tea’s Newmark location at 34925 Newmark Blvd. Bay Area Facebookers recently noted the closure of the Tri-City boba spot, showing that UmeTea was in place to take over. UmeTea owner Zuoda Wang confirmed the move, telling What Now San Francisco that they should be ready to open in about a month.

UmeTea is a budding local chain known for serving fresh teas loaded with real fruits, plus deliciously creamy milk teas with boba. But beyond those ubiquitous tapioca balls, UmeTea sets themselves apart from most boba shops with their extensive selection of street snacks and sweet pastries.

Think Creamy Strawberry Shortcake, Cheezy Mochi Bites, and Starry Sky Bread in flavors such as Taro Mochi, Cream Cheese, and Creamy Red Bean. Of course, they have boba tea shop standards like Crispy Popcorn Chicken, Mini Fried Octopus, and Takoyaki.

The menu also features a selection of bento boxes and sandwiches, plus dozens of fruit and milk tea options to satisfy any sweet tooth or craving. UmeTea currently has locations in Palo Alto, Cupertino, Milpitas, and Fremont. For more information and to order online, visit www.umeteaca.com and follow them on Instagram.
