Fresh off being named one of the Top Entrepreneurs of 2025 by Forbes, Tacos Del Cartel owner Danny Cruz and his Veho Hospitality Group are planning a new taqueria concept called Carnalito for 930 Poydras St. in the Central Business District. According to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans, the restaurant will have a range of traditional tacos and two different taco variations. The “Gringa” tacos come with meat, cheese, and flour tortillas. The “Carnalita” tacos come with meat, beans, cheese, guacamole, fries, and corn tortillas. There will also be a full bar. The site for the new taqueria is a former Reginelli’s Pizza location that is currently undergoing renovations, which are slated to finish in early February.

Carnalitos is just one of several restaurants the Veho Hospitality Group is currently planning, according to posts on Instagram. Another concept called Sushi By Us is also slated to open in 2025 and appears to be a complete departure from the modern taqueria concepts at Tacos Del Cartel and Carnalito.
