According to a recent permit filing, Malpractice has filed for what was formerly home to Grape Ape at 77 SE Yamhill Street.

A representative of Malpractice was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official opening date and what Malpractice plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, according to an Instagram post from Malpractice, “Projected to open later this summer, @malpractice.pdx is officially moving from a pop-up into their brick-and-mortar era!”

According to the permit, Malpractice’s planned days of operation are every day from 4 PM to 12 AM with no seasonal variation. Malpractice also will have the same outdoor operating hours with a food and alcohol service option.

Malpractice was filed for under Bitter Together LLC, according to the permit. Bizapedia states that Bitter Together LLC was incorporated on April 16th, 2024. Two people are listed on the LLC: Byungkyu Park and Ricky Munro. Ricky is also listed on the liquor license.

For Grape Ape, according to an article written in May of 2023 from Ever Out, “Industry alum Morgan Schick opened this laidback natural wine bar and bottle shop in the Central Eastside neighborhood on Wednesday.” Yelp has marked Grape Ape as permanently closed.
