Influenced and inspired by their Korean heritage, Haan Coffee Roasters are setting out to bring a unique café to Orlando. Co-owner Albert Kang shared his vision with What Now on Friday: “We love Orlando, we love the Mills 50 area… [we want] to serve good coffee and bring something new to the city.”
Their name, “Haan 한” is explained on their website as representing “a search for identity and an homage to our roots.” Described as “third-wave” coffee by Kang, they will thoughtfully roast and brew coffee, sourced from “farms that not only produce great crops, but provide and care for their local communities,” according to their website.
They have sold their roasts online for over a year, and have maintained the goal of opening a shop of their own, a goal that is steadily coming to fruition. According to Kang, they are undergoing the permitting process, and hope to commence construction soon. Late summer is their aim for opening.
Haan Coffee Roasters shares a deep connection to their Orlando community, and per their website, as they grow, they intend to “donate proceeds to various nonprofits that are serving our neighbors.”
On their website and Instagram, they display their coffee and merchandise for sale.
Their address will be 1233 E Colonial Drive, connected to the forthcoming Sampaguita Ice Cream + Bakeshop. In this location, they will be neighboring restaurant Mamak and Tasty Wok.
