Gaucho Grill is stepping up their game with a brand new multi-concept venue coming to Long Beach, located at 780 E. Shoreline Dr.

Gaucho’s fifth location is going to be their biggest one yet. Owners Adrian Amosa and Kirk Cartozian plan to open not one but three different operations right on Alamitos Beach. Amosa tells What Now Los Angeles they are opening Gaucho Cafe, Gaucho Beach, and Gaucho Mercado, which are all expected to open in Summer 2022. Customers can expect a more casual setup in this brand-new $9 million beachfront property currently in construction. The duo is aiming to open the multi-concept venue in June.

Gaucho Cafe will be the least formal of the two sit-down restaurants but will be easily accessible. The cafe will offer  “coffee, juices, smoothies, baked goods and cakes, pizzas, signature empanadas, and ice cream,” according to its submission to the city. The more formal sit-down restaurant, Gaucho Beach, will be a beach-version of the restaurant’s chain found throughout Los Angeles. Finally, Gaucho Mercado, the smallest of the structures, will serve as a grab-and-go space with healthy options such as salads, sandwiches, and more.

Each junction will have its own tailored menu that is still in the works. Longbeachize points out the restaurant has several proposed menus for Gueacho Beach and Gaucho Cafe. The former proposes a handful of gourmet sandwiches, empanadas, a vegan menu, and a “from the fire” and “from the sea” section. Gaucho Cafe is proposing standard cafe options like coffee, juices, and smoothies. As for food, Gaucho Cafe hopes to serve empanadas, desserts, cakes, argentine pizzas, and other options from the bakery.

“Right now, Gaucho Grill Argentina Steakhouse is beef-centric,” Cartozian tells What Now Los Angeles. “Because of the location, the beach concept will be more chicken, fish, and cocktail-centric. We will have with our signature empanada line, plus a brand new vegetarian and vegan menu.”

This is great news for Long Beach residents, who used to have a Gaucho Grill on Pine Ave. Parent company Downey Restaurant Group successfully outbid several other entities to win this ongoing Long Beach Waterfront upgrades, which includes Saltwater Deck at the Junipero junction.

“We are super excited about it,” Cartozian says. “It had been a year-long in the making to get there, and luckily the City Committee and the City Council unanimously awarded it to us.”
