ALDI next week will open its newest Atlanta-area grocery store, at 4670 Jonesboro Road in Union City, according to a press release Wednesday. The new location is part of the company’s national expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022. ALDI is spending $5 billion in new and remodeled stores to achieve that mission. Debuting Thursday, November 5, at 9 a.m., the Union City store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“We know shopping for groceries is essential, which is why we are committed to providing high-quality, affordable groceries and a safe shopping experience,” Shaun O’Keefe, Jefferson division vice president for ALDI, said in the release. “We are proud to open this new Union City store, and we look forward to doing what we do best, which is ensuring the communities we serve have access to the groceries they need at the lowest possible prices.”
When it comes to value, ALDI claims it won’t be beaten on price. The retailer consistently maintains low prices by “working with the best partners to curate a selection of more than 90 percent exclusive brands, and ALDI guarantees its products are as good as or better than national brands,” according to the release. “ALDI pioneered private-label goods and for the past four decades has remained focused on saving people money on the food and products they want most. Now, more than ever, access to affordable groceries is important, and ALDI is proud to continue offering the lowest possible prices.”
