Hair accessory retailer to replace Sage Clothing joining the soon-to-open Sam Flax and Aveda Institute.
Sunnyʼs Hair & Wigs, a 19-year-old retailer of “celebrity quality” hair extensions, is relocating its Atlanta location.
The Minneapolis-based hair accessory retailer first opened at their current location on Peachtree Road in 2008. Sunny’s will relocate to Brookwood Place August 1, according to a press release Tuesday.
Dafina Memberr, co-owner of Sunny’s, in the release said after months of searching, Sage Clothing’s closure brought about the perfect opportunity for relocation.
“…We hope to transform [Brookwood Place] into an ultimate beauty destination…,” Memberr said. “We have been thrilled at the cooperation and professionalism that this plaza offers with Selig Enterprises management.”
The new location — which boasts over “7,000 parking spaces” — will offer an expanded selection of clip-in human hair extensions, “private luxury dressing rooms,” sulfate-free and organic products and a wig selection for medical hair loss.
The hair accessory retailer will join Sam Flax Art Supply which is replacing the now shuttered Kroger Grocery store as well as Aveda Institute which is taking Borders’ space.
Sunnyʼs Hair & Wigs’ first store opened in Minneapolis in 1991.The family-owned hair and wig company now has four retail locations.
Boasts 7,000 parking spaces? Clearly, something every urban shopping center should aspire to. What is this, 1960?
Is that the wig store run by Shocantelle Brown?
That’s obviously a typo. Brookwood Place has only about 600 spaces.
@Larry: “O.Krrrrrrr?”
@larry, @jonc this salon is run by ms. brown: http://whatnowatlanta.com/2010/08/10/angies-wings-and-deli/

Does the airport even have 7,000 parking spaces?
Great, just what the neighborhood needs, a wig shop!
