Kai Lin Art Gallery relocates to Buckhead ~ what now atlanta

Midtown art gallery plans relocation to Buckhead.

Kai Lin Art announced In July, plans to close their Midtown location and reopen in Buckhead.

Today, the art gallery announced in an email newsletter its new location and concept.

“We’re moving from the heart of Midtown to the heart of Buckhead on the Streets of Buckhead, three stores down from the Buckhead Theatre at 3096 Roswell Road NE Atlanta GA 30305,” according to the email.

The new Buckhead location will offer Kai Lin Art and Kai Lin Shop, according to the email. The grand opening is slated for Friday, September 9, with the release of MONSTERS 2.0, its 17 exhibition.

Yu-Kai Lin, the art gallery’s owner, said in the email the relocation was a decision based on showroom square footage.

We’re moving for a couple of reasons. We are adding a retail component to our gallery, Kai Lin Art, that will be branded as Kai Lin Shop. The shop will actively market and sell hand crafted, unique art and craft items below $100. Our Midtown location was 3,600 sq ft and our new Buckhead location will be over 4,300 sq ft. The decision to move from Midtown into Buckhead was a business decision based upon expanding our space, increasing exposure to a new market, and growing our sales volume.

  • Bad for Midtown, but I’m glad they’re needing more space instead of the opposite problem. Hopefully their shop will be more successful than the ShopScad store that shut down in the Village.
