More Closings Than Openings Means Room For Improvement

— Calvin Klein at Lenox Square will close June 25th. To clear their inventory, they are currently offering 50 percent off all of their stock with plans for an increased discount as the closing date nears. This location was the Calvin Klein “White Label” concept which has failed in other markets as well.

— Studio Movie Grill, a movie theatre concept out of Houston Texas (similar to Fork & Screen), is opening their first Atlanta location at 2880 Holcomb Bridge road in Alpharetta. As an opening promo, they are offering two comped movie tickets for signing up for their newsletter!

— Starbucks Coffee closed their location at 1605 Mansell road in Alpharetta on May 25.

— The Flying Biscuit located at 1084 Johnson Ferry Rd NE Marietta is now closed. A new location is opening at 10779 Alpharetta Highway in a shuttered Mama Fu’s space.

— American Cafe located at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead closed this past Monday. The location is still listed as open on their website, but a note posted on the door clearly indicates its closure.

Saba, a restaurant offering pastas, salads and sandwiches, re-opened at Emory village two weeks ago after closing in September of 2009 from catching fire. Saba is located at 1451 Oxford Road NE.
