Pizza Factory is expanding into Oakland this year! QSR Magazine reported this week that the chain recently inked a deal with franchisees Gagandeep Cheema and Yadvir Kaur, who currently own and operate It’s A Grind Coffee Shop on Seminary Avenue.
This fall, Cheema and Kaur are opening a Pizza Factory Express model next door to It’s A Grind. In a phone call with What Now San Francisco this week, Kaur says that they are in the very early stages of the new store’s development and that they will soon be submitting plans to the city for the build.
The pair has seen plenty of success at their coffee shop since its opening three years ago. Knowing the flow of foot traffic in that neighborhood, they began to seek out their next business venture. “Pizza Factory stood out to us instantly. The pizzeria is well-known throughout California and offers great ties to the community, making it the perfect investment choice for us,” Kaur told QSR Magazine.
“Pizza Factory’s new Express design was an ideal model for us given its focus on off-premise dining which matched the operations of our existing business. We’re excited to bring another Pizza Factory to Oakland and expand our presence within the community.”
Pizza Factory originated in 1979 in Oakhurst, California. Today, with over 100 locations in six states, the hometown pizzeria maintains a reputation for serving fresh, never frozen hand-tossed pizzas, salads, wings, sandwiches and more.
