One of New York’s most luxurious fashion boutiques is about to become that much more luxurious.

Slowear is an Italian brand boutique retail clothing store that focuses on selling apparel and home goods. Based of Venice, Italy, Slowear prioritizes timeless and elegant fashion, designed to be as durable and long-lasting as possible. Begun in 2003, the brand has been steadily expanding and is now recognized across the globe as one of the leaders in modern fashion.

Recently, Slowear was sadly forced to close its Williamsburg store, their second New York location since opening their flagship in SoHo. Despite the setback, Slowear continues to expand and has plans to open up more locations in 2023. To accommodate these new changes, the New York Slowear team is currently attempting to acquire a bottle club license for their store at 116 Prince Street.

As an expression of Slowear’s welcoming, Italian hospitality philosophy, the New York team wants to offer cocktails and other alcoholic beverages to their purchasing clientele. As a retail store that doesn’t serve food though, the liquor license application is a little bit more complicated for Slowear. Instead of a traditional restaurant license, the team is in the process of acquiring a “bottle club” license instead, which will enable them to provide drinks to guests despite being neither a restaurant nor tavern.

In addition to the new license acquisition for Prince Street, Slowear is also in the process of developing a brand new store for 330 Lafayette Street. Information is very scarce about these new plans, but according to a recent post on LinkedIn the space is currently searching for a manager to hire. Nothing else is known regarding its timeline for opening, but you can follow Slowear on Instagram for all the updates you need on their latest developments.
