With a fresh and modern vision for how gun ranges and restaurants can blend, business partners Jeffery Wells, Matt Kennedy and Bob Scales are bringing their concept Pint & Pistol to Cocoa. What Now spoke with Kennedy on Tuesday to confirm details.
Sometime this July, at 2911 Oxbow Circle, you will find a family-oriented concept blending a firearms store, range, training facility, restaurant and beer garden that will host live entertainment. The ambitious project plans to make firearm shooting, training and ownership less daunting and available to those who may have been intimidated by the culture at first.
Among the noticeable differences between your run-of-the-mill ranges and gun shops will be the customer service approach. Kennedy describes what he calls the “Apple model,” in which the staff will walk the floor with hand-held iPads Minis to be most available to guests with questions and concerns. Their shooting bays will display to each shooter the amount of time they have left in the bay and give them the option to increase their shooting time. All-in-all, Kennedy plans to integrate technology with the range to streamline the experience for guests.
They will also heavily focus on education and training in a 180° range in which people can practice shooting in low light and from vehicles.
In addition to the shooting range, Pint & Pistol will feature a restaurant that will serve a broad spectrum of food, like traditional hamburgers, vegetarian and vegan options, and specialty meats like bison. Guests can also enjoy the bar and beer garden. However, once someone orders alcohol, they are prohibited from shooting on the range.
“We want to deliver the most top, professional customer service the firearms industry has ever seen,” said Kennedy. “We want to reposition the firearms industry from going into an old, smoky building where you’re scared to ask a question or feeling intimidated to more of a boutique, where… families find it exciting, warm and welcoming.”
