The city of Oakland just recently approved permits for a new restaurant called Sorabol K Banchan. Look out for it at 4013 Telegraph Ave. in Temescal later this year. According to public records, the 1,200 square-foot restaurant has tentative plans to open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. but other than that, details about the new business are scant.

Owner Soon Hong told What Now San Francisco via phone call this week that they hope to open around late summer or fall of this year. It’s likely that he has a lot of plans to finalize now that he has just received approval on his building permits.

Based on the name, we might expect Sorabol K Banchan to serve Korean cuisine, of course, complemented by a wide variety of traditional Korean side dishes. Hopefully, we can get an update from Hong closer to his opening. Stay tuned.
