La Fromagerie, a French specialty grocer serving cheeses, sandwiches and wine, is soon to open a store at 2260 Chestnut St. in the Marina District. It will likely open in September, according to co-owner Thomas Choffel during a phone call with What Now San Francisco this week.

La Fromagerie services the city from outposts in FiDi, SoMa and Dogpatch, while also shipping their imported goods nationwide. In addition to a vast selection of cheeses, La Fromagerie carries an array of products from jams, cookies, crackers and produce — basically all the necessities for the perfect charcuterie.

They also specialize salads and sandwiches, the latter of which are crafted with wood fired ciabatta rolls that are baked fresh daily. And of course, to complement all of these scrumptious bites, La Fromagerie offers a unique selection of wines and beers.

The Chestnut Street shop will be the local chain’s fourth. Choffel says that while it will be similar to the first three locations, this one will differ in that it will have more of a wine bar feel with an expanded food selection. He adds that 75-percent of their products are French, while the other 25-percent are sourced from around Europe and the U.S.
