The Grove’s Fillmore location closed permanently as a pandemic casualty and now, this once popular Pacific Heights restaurant is finally seeing a season of change. Taking over 2016 Fillmore St. is a new restaurant called Little Shucker, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Little Shucker will be brought to us next year by the owners of Snug, a popular bar located up the street. The new concept will be a “playful” spot with a menu headed by Adrian Garcia, whose resume includes stints at Michelin-starred restaurants such as Benu and Quince.
The menu’s focal point will be a raw bar featuring local oysters and crudo to be paired with wines, spritzes, and low-ABV cocktails. The drink menu will be overseen by Snug managing partner Jacob Racusin and bar director John Fragola.
Little Shucker aims to feel like a Parisian bistro, with windows that open onto the street and heated outdoor seating. The goal for this new restaurant is for customers to feel that it’s casual enough for quick refreshments, but that its quality experience and menu will justify the price.
“My biggest realization as both a restaurant owner and a consumer is that you have to offer something unique that can justify the prices we simply have to charge to stay afloat as a restaurant in this city,” managing partner Zack Schwab tells the Chronicle. There will also be an automatic 20-percent surcharge to support livable wages and benefits for full-time employees.
