The longtime Old Town staple Harney Sushi has been acquired by Sam Azzu, President of The Living Room Coffeehouse. Harney Sushi will retain its original name and location at 3964 Harney St. The location enjoys proximity to other Old Town eateries such as Tuetano Taqueria and The Congress Café.

Sam Azzu tells What Now San Diego that Harney Sushi has been under his ownership since August 15 and he is looking forward to a long and successful tenure at the helm of the popular sushi joint.

“We’re currently trying to streamline the management and optimize the profitability of the operation,” Azzu explains. “We don’t want to drastically change anything, but we want to have fun with it.”

One major change that Mr. Azzu would like to inform locals of is the revamping of their wine menu to feature a much more robust, international selection.

Founded by Dustin Summerville and Kirk Harrison in 2001, Harney Sushi features a classic sushi menu of dishes such as nigiri and sashimi, alongside ceviche and other raw fish plates. For more information on Harney Sushi, visit their Website.
