The growing made-to-order pizza chain MOD Pizza will soon be opening a new Leander-Georgetown location, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The upcoming store will be located at 19388 Ronald Reagan Blvd, in a growing area relatively underpopulated by restaurants. The nearest brick and mortar eatery is Jersey Mike’s Subs.
Founded by husband and wife team Scott and Ally Svenson in 2008, MOD Pizza has since sought to imagine a “a new way for people to enjoy pizza, by bringing speed, individual style and value to one of America’s favorite foods.” Operating under a made-to-order model, MOD Pizza has an impressive array of ingredients, with ten meat selections, two dozen veggie selections, several cheeses, drizzles, sauces, and other palette toppers.
What is perhaps most notable about MOD is its humanitarian approach to hiring as it seeks to employ people such as the “formerly incarcerated, individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, Opportunity Youth (those between the ages of 16 and 24 who are not in school and not employed), and those who have struggled with homelessness or are recovering from addiction.”
What Now Austin reached out to Franchisee Eric Esparza and other company representatives for additional information about the upcoming location, but they were not immediately available for comment.
Until the new MOD Pizza opens its doors, local foodies may find several locations along the I-35 corridor in Central Texas.
