The popular Titusville eatery, Loyd Have Mercy, will soon be opening its first Orlando location, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 5250 International Drive, near eateries such as Texas de Brazil and Bahama Breeze.

Boasting itself as serving the “best food on this side of heaven”, Loyd Have Mercy focuses on soul food, with dishes such as pork chop, meatloaf, grouper and cornbread.

When asked what dish best represents the restaurant, owner Andrew Loyd says “We’re known for our fried chicken and for our oxtails.”

Explaining his rationale to open an Orlando location, Mr. Loyd says “Well, we get a lot of people from Orlando over here to this restaurant (in Titusville). I live in Orlando too, and there’s really no soul food restaurant in Orlando, so we’ll finally be able to provide a real soul food offering in the city.”

Mr. Loyd states that he intends to open in the first quarter of 2023, hoping that the restaurant will be up and running by Black History Month. Until the Orlando location opens its doors, curious foodies may visit the original location at 3434 S Washington Avenue in Titusville.
