The area where West Flamingo Road intersects with South Grand Canyon Drive and Bruce Woodbury Beltway is highly developed on the culinary side, offering a considerable selection of food and drink spots. The southeast corner of Flamingo and Grand Canyon is home to Grand Flamingo Centre, for example. The small shopping centers boasts a Starbucks, Rise & Shine A Steak and Egg Place, Eddie’s Mexican, and Giovanni’s Pizzeria and Grill.
Just across Flamingo, to the north, not far from PKWY Tavern Flamingo, permitting paperwork indicates a new restaurant is in the works.
The paperwork was submitted by HUKL Investments, a Vegas-based multi-industry investment group that represents, as the firm’s About page describes it, “the culmination of multiple successful business since 1995.” HUKL focuses on “the growth and diversity of our investment portfolio.” These include Real Estate, Insurance Services, Business Operation Management & Consulting, and Hospitality.
This last seems to be in play here: the paperwork describes a “new food establishment in an existing retail space.”
What Now reached out to HUKL Vice President of Culinary Operations Jose Avila on Tuesday. Avila declined to comment or otherwise shed light on the project, which will thus remain a mystery for the time being. Keep an eye out when you pass that stretch of Flamingo Road. Something is brewing.
The list of dining choices in the area goes on, by the way. Across Grand Canyon from Grand Flamingo Centre is Grand Canyon Parkway, which is home to restaurants like Pho4Real, Cinnaholic, and Frank & Fina’s Cocina, along with a McDonald’s and a Chuck E. Cheese.
We’ll be keeping our eyes on this story as it develops, so be sure to check back for updates.
