Originally expected sometime in the fall of 2022, the Las Vegas debut of donut chain Duck Donuts at the Grand Bazaar Shops ultimately did not manage to materialize last year. This week, however, building permits were issued by Clark County, and, according to franchisee Gary Kopel, construction is ready to begin.

“It’s going to be very exciting,” Kopel told What Now on Friday. “We’ve been building up a bit of a following already.”

With construction set to start next week, the location’s estimated opening will now be in late March. Setting up shop in a 768 square-foot space at the Grand Bazaar Shops, Duck Donuts will offer the Las Vegas Strip its gourmet donuts, which come in tempting flavors like Bacon in the Sun, with maple icing, chopped bacon, and a salted caramel drizzle.

The chain also offers ice cream, donut sundaes, and milkshakes, and its Las Vegas Strip location will be the much-anticipated debut of a new product for Duck Donuts: the boozy shake. Hard to imagine a better place for such a debut than on the Strip.

Opening at the Grand Bazaar Shops, Duck Donuts will join a roster of food and drink concepts that includes Island Time Floats Tiki Bar & Tacos, Istanbul Mediterranean, Pisa Pizza, and Ramen-Ya.
