Chef Chris Yang and his partner Marcelle Gonzales Yang, owners of Hén-zhì and El Chino Grande, are opening a new restaurant in Mission. According to a report by SF Eater, the two have signed a lease for a space at 2170 Mission Street, and the concept will be called Piglet & Co

“Inspired by the street food culture of Taiwan,” the Yangs are known in the Bay Area for Hén-zhì, a “series of pop-up dinners” that showcase “street food in a modern format.”  El Chino Grande, their more “casual” pop-up concept, is described as influenced by the couple’s travels through Asia and Hawaii — and dishes out plates like garlic shrimp bento, spam curry rice, and chilled udon noodles.

The soon-to-be-announced Piglet & Co. menu will similarly fuse Californian cuisine and Taiwanese street food, according to the official website. Eater reports that the eatery will offer “both an a la carte menu and a family-style set menu with the option for a beverage pairing,” and while the restaurant hasn’t yet received its beer and wine license, Chef Chris Yang shares that in the meantime patrons can anticipate a wide selection of nonalcoholic beverages.

Piglet & Co. is currently taking reservations for its soft opening in January.
