Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, the growing central Florida-based chain, is slated to open a new outpost within the Leu Gardens at 1920 N Forest Ave, sharing a space with Foxtail Coffee, according to recent reporting in The Orlando Business Journal.

“Orlando City Council is set to vote on a lease agreement with Foxtail for a 550-square-foot cafe and gift shop with a 280-square-foot storage area in the roughly 50-acre, city-owned botanical garden, according to city documents,” the report states, not specifying the exact arrangements set with Kelly’s.

“The proposed location would have ice cream, coffee and food items such as sandwiches, as well as branded Leu Gardens items in the gift shop.”

What Now Orlando reached out to owner and founder Kelly Seidl to inquire about potential opening dates and alterations to the brand’s classic offerings, but she was not immediately available for comment.

“Kelly Seidl’s passion for ice cream and people took shape during nursing school when she took a part-time job scooping ice cream,” the official website states.

“Years later, Kelly and her husband, Scott, moved to Central Florida and discovered there was no local, hand-dipped ice cream – so they decided to make their own!”

As the development is in very early stages, no potential opening dates have yet been set.
