A small bakery based in Spring is opening its first storefront in Magnolia. Miya’s Munchies, owned by Sumiyyah Harvey and her son, Khaliq Harvey, began serving a variety of baked goods back in 2018.

After an extended trip with her family in Europe, Sumiyyah decided to open the bakery similar to bakeries her parents had owned and operated in the past. Her mother sent her all of the original family recipes, and Miya’s Munchies was born.

The menu includes a variety of pot pies including classic chicken, seafood, and braised short rib, as well as quiche. Miya’s Munchies buttermilk biscuits are offered with more than a dozen unique flavor combinations such as Bacon, Cheddar, & Green Onion and the Roasted Garlic, Asiago, & Thyme. You can also enjoy jams such as Honey Cinnamon Butter, plus dessert bars, and pies including classic apple and chocolate bourbon pecan.

The storefront will be located in the former space of Victory Pie Company at 32907 Tamina Rd. in Magnolia, according to a Miya’s Munchies Facebook post. The post went on to say, “What makes this location even more special is that is where our very first farmers market was almost 4 years ago. Full circle.”

The Miya’s Munchies storefront is expected to open to the public in early 2023. Miya’s Munchies will continue to offer menu items at farmers markets although the market appearances will be reduced once the storefront opens.
