The Australia-based coffeehouse chain Gloria Jean’s Coffees is planning to open a new outpost in San Antonio — taking over a space at 101 West Euclid Avenue, near Luby’s, Purgatory, and Thunder Heart Bison.

What Now San Antonio briefly spoke to first-time franchisee Johnny Rodriguez, but he was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication. Nevertheless, the permit application provides insight into what’s to come.

According to the filing, renovation of the 2,000-square-foot space began in mid-January and was finished at the end of March. The project was described as the “interior finish-out of an existing space” that included “partial demolition, new walls, ceilings, MEP, restrooms, and countertops” and cost an estimated $200,000 to complete.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Gloria Jean’s Coffees is a coffeehouse brand headquartered in Castle Hill, Sydney. The chain is owned by Retail Food Group and operates over 599 stores across 40 countries, including more than 140 in Australia.

An opening date has not yet been announced. Follow Gloria Jean’s on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
