Telescope Coffee, a Bay Area-based cafe known for specialty coffee and pastries, is moving from its current space at 451 9th Street to an undisclosed address in SoMa

Owner Jenny Ngo shares with What Now San Francisco that the new location is much larger than the previous and, unlike the original, will offer seating for patrons. The coffee, however, will remain the same — “fair trade, organic, and sourced from small farms.”

The owner of Cosmic Dust Coffee, Jenny Huynh, will be in charge of curating the coffee selection. According to the Telescope Coffee website, she sources “fair-trade coffee beans from farmers directly or coffee importers that focus on sustainability and traceability” and is predominately interested in single-origin blends from Southeast Asia.

In addition to coffee, menu items include pastries like chocolate chip cookies and cream puffs inspired by banana cream pie. There are also savory options like focaccia, made with a sourdough starter that has been around since Telescope Coffee’s opening. Plus, all concentrates and syrups are made in-house.

The business’s final brew on 9th Street will take place on March 18th, and the new location is estimated to open by the summer.
