The popular Assembly Food Hall vendor, PokeNash, has been serving its build-your-own fresh fish bowls since 2021 in Music City. Now, the brand is looking to expand with its second location opening soon in Hendersonville at 206 Indian Lake Blvd, and is considering additional options for future growth, according to a press release.

Although an official grand opening date is not currently known, PokeNash is slated for a summer opening and may welcome customers as early as August.

Many locally-owned restaurants in Nashville have been making the move out to nearby suburbs to expand their business, including Soulshine Pizza in Gallatin and Shotgun Willie’s BBQ in Madison. It’s likely that PokeNash’s Hendersonville location will garner much success in the up-and-coming market.

Jason Tran, founder and owner of PokeNash, is a Vietnamese immigrant who moved to Hawaii in 2001, where he was first introduced to poke. The former sushi chef is familiar with the restaurant industry from the back-of-house perspective, which helped him learn the delicate and delicious art of poke, and ultimately grow to open his own concept, according to PokeNash’s website.

PokeNash offers a variety of proteins to anchor its DIY bowls, including marinated sushi-grade salmon, tuna, sauteed shrimp and chicken, as well as vegan-friendly tofu. Toppings include rice, mixed greens, onions, edamame, ginger, pineapple, seaweed, and multiple house-made sauces including spicy mayo, ponzu, and wasabi aioli.

Prices range from $12-$16 for entrees, and $5-$7 for its Hawaiian fries and gyoza appetizers. The Hendersonville location will offer operating hours of 11 a.m. — 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. — 7 p.m. on Sunday, according to its website.

What Now Nashville reached out to Tran for comment, but did not receive a reply by the time of publication.
