According to recent reporting in Eater, the Hill Country winery Wine for the People will be closing its tasting room in Austin this month.
“Its last day of service within Rosedale restaurant Spread & Co. at 1601 West 38th Street will be on Sunday, November 26,” the report states.
However, that won’t be the end for the popular winery— founder, owner, and winemaker Rae Wilson is on the lookout for a new and permanent location in 2024, according to a recent Instagram post.
“Austin’s our hometown; we’re not going anywhere,” Wilson says.
Wilson adds that the winery is partnering with William Chris Vineyards. Wilson’s venture has been producing its wines out of their facility for the past couple of vintages, thus setting up a “natural partnership” for Wilson and company.
“Excited for our new chapter in the beautiful Hill Country! We can’t wait to see you there. Let’s toast to new beginnings,” the caption states.
No address or opening date has yet been set.
