Blanca Zepeda and Juvenal Magaña, the owners of Richmond’s Mi Casa Grill, are debuting a new eatery at Hotel Mac — a historic hotel at 10 Cottage Avenue in Port Richmond.

Zepeda tells What Now San Francisco that the eatery will serve Italian cuisine, with a focus on fresh ingredients, healthy options, and authenticity. She says that Chef Fabio Bucio is still developing the menu, but “the bread, the pasta, everything will be made in-house.”

The space was previously home to an eatery referred to as “the Mac,” but it shut down in June 2020 because of the pandemic. However, Zepeda and Magaña intend to pay tribute to the former tenant.

“We have all the remodeling underway. We plan to bring back the bar — we’re just refinishing it — we’re bringing back the lounge with the piano, having some jazz music. Just making it a community space as it has always been,” Zepeda shares.

Zepeda and Magaña were both born in Mexico but grew up in Richmond, her since she was 11 and him since 14. In regards to Biancoverde, as well as Mi Casa Grill — the couple’s Mexican restaurant at 12056 San Pablo Ave — Zepeda tells What Now San Francisco, “Our intention was coming back and giving back… We really want to make Richmond a go-to food place.”

Biancoverde is slated to open in May or June 2023. Sign up for additional updates at biancoverderestaurant.com.
