On Thursday, April 13, Brookfield Properties announced that Standard Deviant Brewing has signed a lease for a space at Pier 70’s Building 12 — a restored historic building that was originally built in 1941 for the World War II shipbuilding effort.

“We wanted to grow in San Francisco and we were attracted to the diversity of folks and quality of crafting in the Bay View and Dogpatch neighborhoods,” shares Standard Deviant Brewing’s co-owner Mark DeVito

This will mark Standard Deviant’s second manufacturing facility and taproom, in addition to the brewery’s flagship location at 14th and Mission Streets.

DeVito adds, “Our new Building 12 space gives us the chance to expand our production and retail capability, along with holding cool events that support community groups and causes for people of all backgrounds. Our philosophy is that everyone should be able to find their favorite beer at our taproom and everyone is welcome.“

According to the press release, additional upcoming tenants include Breadbelly, Studio Duskus, Marbled Mint, Prowl Studio, and Scuderia, as well as a paper artist and a metalsmith.

Tim Bacon, Brookfield Properties Senior Director of Development, says that Brookfield plans to share additional tenants for Building 12 soon.

An opening date has not yet been announced, so check out Standard Deviant’s Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
