Crust Pizzeria, a concept by Crust Simply Italian, is opening a second location at Bethany Home Road and 16th Street, according to Mouth by Southwest.

Owned by Michael Merendino, the new restaurant is set for before the end of this year in Phoenix. The first location is in Tempe at 1120 E. Baseline Rd in the Lake Country Village Shopping Center.

Merendino is a first-generation American with parents from Italy, and his father had a pizzeria on Long Island in New York. This inspired him to bring his own take on Italian food to Phoenix through Crust Simply Italian in 2007 before opening more locations and expanding with Crust Pizzeria.

The pizza shop serves whole pizzas, slices, pasta, wings, and salads for both dine-in and take-out.

What Now Phoenix covered their first location, as well as Crust Simply Italian’s branching out to Mesa, which will likely open in early 2024.
