Saltwater Bakeshop, a staple at Clement Street Farmers’ Market, has found a brick-and-mortar home in Central Richmond.
According to a recent report by the San Francisco Chronicle, Chef and Owner Brittany Dunn-Holden has signed a lease for a space at 5901 Geary Boulevard, the former home of First Cake bakery — near eateries such as An Chi Vietnamese restaurant, Seakor Polish Deli, and Tommy’s Mexican.
The article shares that the renovation of the 1,400-square-foot space is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, and that, while the interior is still being designed, it has been confirmed that there will be a display kitchen to offer patrons a glimpse of how the pastries are made.
Making a name for itself at farmers’ markets throughout the Bay Area, Saltwater Bakeshop is known for its jam-filled mochi muffins, sourdough bread, and croissants. The menu is reportedly going to be expanded, and coffee will be offered, but what exactly this means hasn’t been articulated yet.
Concerning Saltwater Bakeshop’s future at Clement Street Farmers’ Market, Dunn-Holden says the bakery will remain a regular — “I never, ever, want to take them for granted and just walk away from them.”
Saltwater Bakeshop is slated to open later this year. Until then, follow the bakery on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
