According to a recent permit application, Oakland’s Japanese restaurant Mujiri is opening a second outpost — this time in Hayward.

Coming to 22530 Main Street, the eatery will take over the former Americana Pizza & Taqueria spot, near establishments such as Funky Monkey, Sapporo Japanese Restaurant, and The World Famous Turf Club.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Mujiri’s owner, Jane Sun, but she was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, its existing location is found at 6501 San Pablo Avenue B in Oakland and is known as a “cozy and unpretentious sushi joint serving Japanese classics and offering outdoor seating.”

While further details for the Hayward outpost haven’t yet been shared, if it follows the lead of the flagship restaurant, patrons can expect the eatery to be open from Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Mujiri’s website shares that the Hayward location is opening soon, but does not announce a specific date. Follow the eatery on Instagram for additional updates.
