A new eatery, Kanpai Sushi, is coming to San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood — taking over the former Ultra Sushi space at 4808 Mission Street, near establishments such as Gentilly, Taqueria Guadalajara, and TY Sandwiches.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Kanpai Sushi’s owner, Jiamen Chen, to inquire about the upcoming restaurant, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, according to the eatery’s website, locals can expect the restaurant to offer Japanese-inspired fare.

On the menu are items such as edamame, tempura, and chicken karaage for appetizers, and plates such as teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, and udon noodles — in addition to a wide range of sushi options.

Based on a recent beer and wine license application, residents can also expect to find a selection of Japanese beer and sake.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
