In the heart of Pearland, d’lish Catering Inc., a culinary cornerstone known to many, is on the brink of a monumental expansion. Mandy Niscavits, the founder and owner, is charting new waters by building up a state-of-the-art, 4000 square-foot commercial kitchen at 5655 McHard Rd, Pearland, TX 77581.

A brief history reveals the company’s footprint downtown at The Shops, 1200 McKinney St. #479, from 2010 to 2016. The story then took a romantic twist when Mandy crossed paths with a former high school friend, a charismatic Marine, Joe Niscavits. Their chemistry was palpable, leading to a whirlwind marriage within half a year.

The couple’s next steps were determined by both serendipity and strategic decision-making. “My commercial lease was coming up for renewal and we hadn’t bought a home yet, so we followed my family legacy to own property that we could live, start a family, and do business,” Mandy recounted to What Now Houston.

With her husband’s extensive experience in the restaurant industry, spanning roles from kitchen duties to being a general manager for renowned chains, the pair saw a clear opportunity. They acquired 2 acres in Pearland, an exciting locale that was zoned both residential and commercial. The property promised future frontage on a major thoroughfare, amplifying its commercial allure.

Yet, the journey had its share of hurdles. The property, unbeknownst to them, had a history of flooding – a revelation only discovered post-Hurricane Harvey. Coupled with challenges during the pandemic and unforeseen delays in roadworks, their aspirations were momentarily thwarted.

However, perseverance prevailed. “We are planning a 4000 square-foot building with a commercial kitchen, a retail store selling our prepared meals, and a flex space with full bar that can seat up to 50 guests or social events up to 100!” Mandy excitedly announced.

It’s clear that this development marks a significant milestone for d’lish Catering, approaching its 20th year in business. Reflecting on the past and envisioning the future, Mandy added, “We have been using a 36′ trailer for our business in the interim. We are thrilled and cannot wait to have our forever home and kitchen to carry out the rest of our careers.”

No opening time frame was available at this time, but the permit on file with the state shows a start date for the project in February 2024 with a completion in October 2024.
