According to a recently-filed ABC application, Calvin Wang’s Lucky Tacoshi will soon open its second iteration at the Hong Kong Plaza (989 South Glendora Avenue) in West Covina. The concept’s maiden operation hails from the Westfield Century City shopping mall on Santa Monica Boulevard.

A quick-service eatery offering sushi in taco form (hence, “taco-shi”), Lucky Tacoshi’s menu is stacked with intriguing creations like deep-fried seaweed shells stuffed with fresh cubed salmon, massive sushi burritos, savory skewers, and colorful poke bowls.

The Century City location resides in the mall’s food court and facilitates a quick & easy transaction process using an iPad (no cash), as mentioned by many Yelp reviewers. Notably, the sushi burrito is “flavorful and filling,” the taco portions are “generous,” and the staff is “really nice.”

Wang tells What Now Los Angeles that the West Covina outpost will debut near the end of January.
