Cafe Luce appears to be opening a location on the west side of the city.

Owner Heddy Nadji has filed paperwork for a spot at 319 W 51st Street between Eighth Avenue and Ninth Avenue.

The spot will go in on the ground floor of the building. The space was formerly home to Italian restaurant La Bella Valentina.

Cafe Luce, which has one location in Midtown East, is an Italian restaurant and wine bar concept. Nadji opened the spot in 2021. That location has a Trattoria-inspired atmosphere and serves authentic Italian dishes, according to the Cafe Luce website.

Appetizers include burrata, octopus carpaccio and bruschettas, and entrees include a variety of fresh homemade pasta dishes such as pollo capricciosa and alfredo mushroom. Cafe Luce also serves salads, Italian desserts and coffee.

The beverage program features an extensive wine list, including white, red and sparkling wines.

The paperwork shows plans for 19 tables with a total of 42 seats, as well as one stand-up bar that will seat eight. There are also plans for outdoor seating in a backyard, with nine tables that will seat 18.

As of now, a timeline for opening is unclear.
