The local mainstay Oakville Grocery recently closed its doors in Healdsburg after 25 years in business, paving the way for a new tenant to take over the space. The site at 124 Matheson St. will now be home to a brand-new business from a local chef who brings over 15 years of experience to the table.

With experience from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Grand Cayman and Half Moon Bay, The W Hotel in Bali, and Healdsburg’s own Black Oak Coffee Shop, Beryl Adler is starting his first solo venture. Acorn Café is the name of Adler’s concept replacing Oakville Grocery and has sights set for a 2024 opening. Though a more precise timeline for opening is not yet known, it’s likely to be at least four months or longer from opening doors. The cafe has only an Instagram page created, though no posts have been shared yet. An official Acorn Café website is likely still in development as well.

The “mysterious new tenant” on the block was recently announced by Shoplocalhealdsburg.com. The site shares that Black Oak Coffee will participate in curating the coffee program at the cafe, but has no official ties to the business beyond this. Adler noted that customers can “expect more delicious food and great company. There will be beer and wine,” he stated.

Despite specific menu details for Acorn Café being unknown, the concept is sure to attract local business and community support as Adler’s established reputation in Healdsburg precedes him.

Customers can stay tuned for additional updates regarding Acorn Cafe on its Instagram page. What Now SF reached out to Adler for additional comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
